The Power of the Kingdom

John 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you."

Jesus said it is to our advantage that He goes back to the Father so that you and I can receive the Holy Spirit. One of the members of the Godhead lives inside us! The Holy Spirit is our divine Helper. He is the Spirit of truth whose job is to show us things to come!

It was wonderful for the disciples to walk with Jesus. They got to see Him lay hands on the sick, walk on water, raise the dead, feed the multitudes, and many other wonderful miracles. But Jesus made it clear that the Father's will was for His Spirit to live in us. God wanted us to do what Jesus did and greater works than He did! (John 14:12)

When Jesus was ascending to heaven, He told His disciples to wait for the promise of the Father which was the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It was when they were baptised with the Holy Spirit the disciples received power to be witnesses to the earth.

The Holy Spirit is on the inside of us to empower us to live this Christian life, to be witnesses, and to walk out God's plans and purposes!

When we spend time praying in the Spirit and seeking God's will, the Holy Spirit will show us things to come. He will prepare us for what God has prepared for us!

I encourage you to spend time praying in the Spirit and seeking God's will for your life. He has divine wisdom and foresight so we can walk out God's plan for our lives!
