The Glorious Church
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
Many people have different views of the church due to their experiences, but regardless of what people’s opinions or experiences have been, the way God views the Church is what matters.
To Him, the Church represents His glory and the Bible says in Ephesians chapter five that Jesus is coming back for His glorious Church.
To Jesus, the Church is His Bride and she has His heart. Even though the church can be messy, in the end, she will be beautiful, without spot or wrinkle.
The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul says that the Church is a representation of the glory of God.
How does one even begin to understand and describe God’s glory?
We can see God’s glory in creation, and we can see God’s glory in Jesus. But we can also see God’s glory in the Church. The universal church, the local church, and the individual as carriers of the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 4:7)
Every tribe, nation, people group and tongue who have made Jesus their Lord and Saviour is part of the universal church, and it is glorious. There is something precious about meeting another believer in the Lord. They can come from completely different backgrounds and yet have the most valuable thing in common: the truth that Jesus is Lord!
The local church is where people can gather together, get connected and grow together. They do life together, they share the love of God, and encourage one another daily. The love of God in action amongst believers is glorious.
Then there is the individual, as carriers of the glory of God, what God is doing in the universal church, and the local church, He is doing in the individual. When you and I walk into a store, Jesus is walking in. The way we talk, the way we interact, the way we treat others, everything we do and everywhere we go, we are carriers of the presence of God.
We all long to be part of something bigger than ourselves, and the answer to that longing is finding our place in the Body of Christ amongst fellow believers, giving the glory to God.
What a wonderful truth that we can grow in, the understanding of the glory of God in His Church.
Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.
Blessings,
Chloe
