Faith: the currency of righteousness

Romans 4:4-5 “Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favour, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,”

Faith is the currency in which we receive righteousness.

Believing what God has done in Jesus for us is how we receive salvation.

This is why faith is essential. Without faith, we can’t receive salvation. The only correct response to Gods grace is faith.

Grace says: “You are loved”

Faith says, “Yes, Lord, I believe that I am loved by God.”

Grace says, “You are righteous because of Jesus.”

Faith says, “I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ.”

Grace says, “You are healed”

Faith says, “Yes, Lord, I am healed.”

Grace says, “You are blessed”

Faith says, “I am the blessed of the Lord.”

We can look at the life of Abraham and see how he responded to God. Abraham was quick to believe in God. God is the one who made him rich, God is the one who caused him to succeed, God is the one who blessed him. God is the one who showed him the stars and said, “So shall your descendants be.”

The Bible says that “Abraham believed God.”

It was because Abraham chose to trust God that God said, “You are righteous.”

We live our lives trusting God and what He has done for us through Jesus.

Faith is how we receive. Faith is how we live.

I encourage you this week to take time to meditate on the verses in Romans 4:1-8 and allow God to reveal to you how He sees you, and by faith, you believe it!

Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.

Blessings,

Chloe
