Faith In Jesus Name
Acts 3:16: “And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”
As disciples of Jesus, we are called and equipped to do the works He did when He walked on the earth. We have been given the name of Jesus to carry out His will on the earth. What a wonderful privilege it is to be equipped with the name of Jesus to do the works of God! As His Church, His body and His children, we are called to do the works of Jesus. This is what faith in His name is for: that the plan and will of God may be accomplished on the earth.
Jesus said in John 14:12–14:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
In Acts chapter 3, we see Peter and John exercise faith in the name of Jesus and do the works Jesus did. A man who had been unable to walk received healing, and many people were impacted by the Gospel. This is what you and I are called to do too!
Opportunities will come across our paths when our faith in the name of Jesus can change situations for the glory of God.
Faith is strengthened and developed by spending time with Jesus—in His Word and in fellowship with His Spirit. As we grow in our relationship with God, our faith in Him becomes stronger. In these times of fellowship, we come to know and understand His will. Then, when we encounter situations that require faith in His name, we will have the boldness and assurance to declare our Father’s will over them.
I encourage you this week to spend time with your Heavenly Father and in His Word. Fellowship with Him. As you do, your understanding of His nature, His will, and His heart for you and His people will begin to transform you and strengthen your faith. You will be ready to say, “In the name of Jesus, rise up and walk!”
Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.
Blessings,
Chloe
