The One Thing Paul Did

Paul did ONE thing consistently, and if he did it, we should as well.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this ONE thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians ‪3:13-14‬

Paul understood that if you do not make a conscious effort to forget those things in your past, you cannot move forward or reach those things God has for you in your future. "LET IT GO" is more than a line from a famous song in a Disney movie but a biblical principle that enables you to move forward in peace with high expectations about your future.

Choose to agree with God and forget what He forgets.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
— Hebrews 8:11

And remember what God says to remember!

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and FORGET NOT all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
— Psalm 103:3-6

Do what Paul did – FORGET what God has forgotten and always remember what He wants you NEVER to FORGET! That way, you, like Paul, will always "Press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
