The Gift of Righteousness

One of the reasons we can have strong faith is because we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Righteousness means to be in right standing with God. That means the righteous ones have the right and privilege to come boldly to the throne of grace and approach the Father in confidence. (Hebrews 4:17)

The blood of Jesus is the reason why we can declare we are righteous! His blood cleanses us from all sin and the haunting consciousness that is the result of sin.

It is well-pleasing to the Father when we declare that we have been made righteous and walk in the truth of it. The righteousness that Jesus has bought for us puts victory in our step, boldness in our voice, and authority in our words. It’s not a righteousness earned by our own self-effort; it is a gift bought by the blood of Jesus and part of our own Born Again spirit.

Don’t allow the devil or your own thoughts to torment you with fear, guilt and shame. Instead, choose to believe that Jesus made you righteous and come boldly to the throne of grace and obtain the grace and mercy that you need from the Father.
