The Enduring Mercy of God

Romans 12:1 "Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship."

Oh, the wonderful mercies of God!

In Romans chapter twelve, Paul has just finished talking about the overall plan of God for both the Gentiles and the Jews, how His plan for them will come to pass because His call is irrevocable. Our behavior does not change God's plan for our life. Paul goes on to say, in Romans twelve, "In view of the mercies of God..." Or because of the mercy of God, let us present our bodies and minds to our God. It's because of God's mercy that our bodies and minds are holy and pleasing to Him. When Jesus made us righteous, our nature was transformed from sinner to saint, from unrighteous to righteous. It is from this transformation that we can now live our lives well pleasing to God.

God's mercies are new every morning! As Pastor Grant said in his message yesterday, "Mercy is the enduring quality of the grace of God." Grace opens the door and God's mercy keeps the door open.

God's call on our lives does not change. His mercy towards us does not change based on our behaviour, His mercy is enteral.

When we wake up each morning, we wake up to His mercy right there to greet us.

Oh, how wonderful are His mercies?!

I encourage you to encourage yourself in the Lord today, and talk about His mercy toward you. Put Psalms 103 in your mouth and let it be the verses that you meditate on as you go through your day. Nothing can compare to the mercy of our God.

Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.

Blessings,

Chloe
