God’s Family
Every person desires to belong.
The need for connection and love is within every person. God put that desire in us because that is also His desire and we are made in His image. The Church is God’s family and He has uniquely designed it so every person has a place, purpose and belongs.
The Church is united through the common belief that Jesus is the Christ. It is upon this rock, that the revelation that Jesus is the Christ is the rock that Jesus is building His Church. (Matthew 16:18) We are saved into community, strengthened through fellowship, and called to love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.
We can see throughout the New Testament the language of family. For example, in Romans 8:15, we call God, “Abba, Father!” In the letters written to the church, the authors refer to the people as brothers and sisters in the Lord.
God’s family is a place of refuge and safety. In the story of Noah, we see that God's covenant extended beyond individuals to include families, and the Ark serves as a foreshadowing of Christ and His church— the place of refuge from judgment.
Paul’s letter to Philemon emphasizes how the Gospel transforms relationships. Onesimus, previously a runaway slave, becomes a cherished brother in Christ. Likewise, the local church should be a place where people are restored and treated with dignity.
There’s no better place to be than to be planted in the local church. Especially in the times that we live in, it is vital that we stay connected to one another, and stay in fellowship with our Heavenly Father. Let’s be those who habitually meet together because we understand the value of meeting together.
Hebrews 10:25, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.
Blessings,
