You Have a Ministry

Colossians 4:17 “And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.””

Every Born-Again Believer has a ministry. It may not be one of the ministry gifts listed in Ephesians 4, but every believer has been given a God-given gift, and it is needed! In order for the Church to fulfil its assignment, every member of the Body needs to be in their place and bring their supply.

The apostle Paul encouraged Archippus to “take heed to the ministry that he received.” Fulfilling God's assignment in our lives doesn’t happen automatically; it requires a dedicated and committed decision to find, follow, and fulfill God’s call in your life.

1 Corinthians 12:28 Paul mentioned more gifts that are in the Body of Christ, “And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.”

Notice he mentions “helps and administrations” These are God-given gifts that are assigned to multiply the effectiveness of the ministry gifts. Without these gifts, the impact of the other gifts wouldn’t be as effective.

Paul’s encouraging words to Archippus aren’t just for him, they are for you and me. We are to be watchful, diligent and purposefully take heed to what God has given us.

We can take heed by:

  1. What are you gifted in?

  2. Take what you’ve been given and bless others and build His church.

God has assigned you and equipped you with specific gifts that are unique to you and where He has placed you in the Body. Never undervalue what you have. Ask the Lord to show you what He has given you and honour the Lord with that gift by using it to bless and serve others and build His Church!

Don’t look at the gift, look at the ministry- the purpose for which that gift was given. The purpose of your gift matters for eternity.

So take heed to the ministry that YOU have received in the Lord that you may fulfil it!

Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.

Blessings,

Chloe
