The Ultimate Victory!

1 Corinthians 2:6-7 (Moffat Translation), “We do discuss 'wisdom' with those who are mature; only it is not the wisdom of this world or of the dethroned Powers who rule this world, it is the mysterious Wisdom of God that we discuss, that hidden wisdom which God decreed from all eternity for our glory.”

Easter, a time of celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour! This is the time when we come together and celebrate what Jesus has done for us. Praise God for what He has done for us at the cross, the grave, and resurrection, but there is so much more that God did in Christ at the resurrection.

The Bible says that there is a wisdom of God that was hidden throughout the ages for our glory. It is a wisdom that is not of this world, nor of the dethroned powers of darkness; it is God’s Wisdom hidden for us to be revealed at the resurrection of Jesus. This wisdom is the complete and total victory that Jesus has won for us!

The Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, prays that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened, that we would know what is the hope of His calling, that we would know what are the riches of His inheritance, and that we would know what is the exceeding greatness of His power. (Ephesians 1:17-20)

As believers, we need a revelation of Jesus’ total victory over Satan. In the verse written above, the Bible calls the power of satan as “dethroned”. The resurrection of Jesus is triumph over satan, hell, death, and sin! Satan has been completely stripped of any authority he once had. Jesus made a public display of Satan when He went to hell for us. Colossians 2:15 says, “Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

In Bible times, when a king went to war against another king and defeated him, the defeated foe would be called “spoiled”. The victor would then parade the captured king through the streets, making a public display of his triumph.

This is what Jesus did to Satan! He stripped him of his authority and power and then made a public display of him in three realms: heaven, earth, and hell. This is the wisdom of God that was hidden for us!  Jesus has won and is now seated at the Father's right hand in heavenly places. Seated FAR above all the powers of darkness. (Ephesians 1:21)

Satan doesn’t want believers to know the truth of his defeat; he tries to deceive us and blind our minds with lies so that we don’t take our rightful place in Christ. But we don’t have to live ignorant of the power of the resurrection! As believers, we are In Christ Jesus. That means everything Jesus paid for belongs to us! We need the help of the Holy Spirit so we can renew our minds to Jesus’ complete victory and live in the triumph of Jesus.

Jesus didn’t go to the cross and hell for His own self; He went to the cross, hell, and defeated Satan for us! It is our divine privilege and legal right to live in the authority that Jesus won for us!

I encourage you, church, to take time to read through the books of Ephesians and Colossians. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand with your heart the triumph that Jesus has won for you. As you begin to see your authority in Christ, you will never be the same again! Hallelujah!

Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.

Blessings,

Chloe
