Do You Have Faith?
Matthew 9:28-30 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith, let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened.”
The Apostle John, by the Holy Spirit, says, “This is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.” (1 John 5:4)
Jesus has already won the victory over the kingdom of darkness, and He has given us His authority and power here on the earth. As Christian’s, living the victorious life is the norm. We triumph, we are victors, we are in the Kingdom of Light! It is now our privilege to learn how to walk in the reality of what Jesus has done for us, in us, and through us. It’s our faith in God that overcomes the world.
It is essential that we learn what faith is and how to identify it so we can live in the victory that already belongs to us.
According to Vine’s dictionary, faith is the assurance, a firm persuasion, a conviction of truth. To put it simply, faith is what we believe.
In the example found in Matthew 9:27-30, Jesus asked them if those blind men believed that He was able to heal them. They said, “Yes, Lord.” Jesus called what they believed faith.
Faith is not found in our feelings, or in other people’s opinions, it's not even what we know the Bible says. Faith is what we believe to be true and are willing to act on those beliefs.
Faith is not complicated; faith in God is simple. According to Romans 12:3, God has given to us the measure of faith. We don’t have to worry or fear thinking we don’t have faith; God has already given us His faith. It is our responsibility to take the faith that God has given us and use it and grow it. Romans 10:17 says that “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”
The more we hear the anointed Word of God preached, faith comes. As we mediate and study God’s Word, faith in Him and what He has promised us begins to grow. Its faith in Him that overcomes the world. There is no problem too complicated or situation too big that faith in God cannot overcome!
I encourage you this week to thank God for the faith that He has given you, and to ask yourself, what is it that I believe?
When a problem arises, ask yourself, what do I believe about what God has said about this problem?
What am I willing to act on?
What am I fully convinced of?
We don’t have to look to our emotions or other people’s opinions. Faith is of the heart, and God has given you faith! Now it's your turn to use it! Do you believe that He is able to do this? Do you believe that He is able to provide for you? Do you believe that He is able to give you the wisdom you need? Do you believe that He has healed you?
Just like those blind men, we can say, “Yes, Lord, I believe!”
Be it unto you according to your faith.
Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.
Blessings,
Chloe
