Move your Mouth and Move Your Mountain

Matthew 17:20, “He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

It’s so encouraging to understand that where we are now in our faith, is not where we will be. What matters is what we do with what we have.

In this Scripture above, we can see how Jesus compared faith to a mustard seed.

When we look at a seed, we understand there is so much ability and potential within it. A mustard seed, as small as it is, when planted produces one of the biggest trees. For a tree to be produced, that seed must be planted.

In the same way, our faith, just like a seed can grow. There is so much potential and ability within our faith, but we must use what we have to see fruit in our lives.

How often we can underestimate the power of our faith because we think we don’t have enough, or we think what we’re facing is too big in comparison to our faith.

But that’s not true! When we use what we do, our faith will grow.

How do we begin to use what we have?

Our mouth!

We can speak God’s Word to our situation, and just like Jesus said, that mountain will move and nothing will be impossible to you.

Don’t fall into the trap of underestimating your faith and the power of your words. Stick with what Jesus said and have faith as a mustard seed. Use what you’ve got and continue to use what you’ve got. Your faith is growing! Mountains are moving and you are seeing the fruit of God's Word come to pass in your life. Don’t give up! Use your mouth and don’t change what you say regardless of what things look like around you, or how much time has gone by. God’s Word is eternal and His Word in your mouth has the power to move that mountain!
