Peace with God
Romans 5:1-2 “ Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand…”
When we know that we have peace with God, it brings boldness and confidence in how we live. So many people live their lives looking for peace—peace with themselves, in relationships, and most importantly, peace with God. However, we aren’t the ones who determine how we have peace with God. It is God who sets the standard; we’re His creation, and we come into alignment with how He works.
God didn’t make righteousness and justification come through us earning it. Romans 5:1 says that we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. When we believe in Jesus and what He finished on the cross, our old, sinful nature is dead and gone, and we receive a new nature, a Born Again, child of God! We are now justified and made righteous because Jesus accomplished and we are in Him!
We have peace with God when we believe in Jesus. It is so simple, and yet, so powerful.
We no longer have to live at war within ourselves, or with God, because we have peace with God. There are times when feelings of guilt and shame try to weasel its way into our thinking, but we don’t have to succumb to those feelings. We have a new nature, one that looks just like Jesus!
It takes time to renew our minds to this truth, but as we spend time meditating on these Scriptures, our understanding of who we are in Christ begins to grow, and it affects the way we live, speak, act, and walk.
I encourage you to spend time reading Romans chapter five. Allow the Holy Spirit to show you how God sees you. Knowing you are justified and have peace with God will put a spring in your step, a song in your heart, and a tone of victory in this world!
Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.
Blessings,
Chloe
