You Are Needed

Ephesians 4:16, “from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”

Jesus’ heart, His love, His focus has always been His Church.

He’s the One who builds His Church, washes her, cleanses her and loves her. He’s the One who sets the members in the Church as He pleases.

As a believer and a child of God, He has equipped you and uniquely and specifically placed you in His Church because He loves His Church.

It can be so easy to belittle or forget the truth that God has graced us for His purposes. We can become so used to “going to church” that we forget that the King of kings and Lord of lords, His focus and His heart is for His Church. And He gave you and me a grace to participate in what He is doing.

Don’t ever underestimate what God has given you. The world measures success by the size of things. They believe that success has to look bigger, make the most money, have the biggest number of followers, but that’s not how God measures success.

In writing to the Corinthian church, Paul reminds them that we will all one day stand before Jesus to give an account for what we did with what He has given us to steward.

1 Corinthians 3:12-13 says,

Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.”

Notice how the Holy Spirit through Paul says that our work will become clear by what SORT it is, not by what SIZE it is. We can choose what materials we will build our lives with. Gold, silver and precious stones are the kinds of materials that will last and be purified in the fire. That’s the kind of material that we are called to use. That means using our God-given gifts for His purposes, and glory is the kind of life that we shine bright and will hear the precious words of Jesus, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Obedience and faithfulness with what you have are how God sees success. When we want what He wants for the same reason He wants it, that’s when we can experience the wonderful joy and peace that comes from living a fulfilled life! What else could be more profitable, more fulfilling than being involved with what our Almighty Father and Lord are building on the earth?

Since Jesus is building His Church, let’s take our place boldly and join in!

Remember, we love you, and we are praying for you.

Blessinbgs,

Chloe
